Wheel intensive course - December

*Christmas Special* Create something truly personal this Christmas. Over three sessions, you will make your own handmade ceramic pieces, perfect as thoughtful Christmas gifts or to keep for yourself. Day 1: Throwing Learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing. You will practice centering clay and create your first simple forms, such as cups and bowls. Day 2: Trimming & Decorating Learn how to trim your leather-hard pieces to refine their shape and create a clean foot. You will also explore simple decorating techniques and add color using slips or underglazes. Day 3: Glazing Learn how to prepare your bisque-fired pieces for glazing and apply glaze evenly using different techniques. You will explore a selection of glazes and finishes and complete your pieces before the final firing. Number of Participants: Small group, maximum 4 participants Duration: 3 sessions, approximately 3 hours each Language: English Level: All levels, beginner-friendly. No previous experience is required. Christmas Pick-Up: Your finished pieces will be ready for pick-up on December 22, just in time to give them as handmade Christmas gifts. Good to Know: - Participants can expect to complete approximately 2-3 ceramic pieces during the course. - All clay, materials, tools, glazing, and firings are included. - Please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Aprons are provided in the studio.
