About the Intensive Wheel Throwing Course Level: All levels, beginner-friendly Number of Participants: The course takes place in a small group, allowing for personalised guidance and a relaxed learning atmosphere in the studio. Duration: 4 sessions, each approximately 3 hours Dates: Tuesday | June 30, July 7, 21, 28 Time: 18:00 – 21:00 Language: The class is held in English ⸻ Course Program Over the course of four sessions, you will focus on learning and developing your skills on the pottery wheel. From your first attempts at centering clay to refining forms and finishing your pieces, this course offers a structured and hands-on introduction to wheel throwing. ⸻ Lesson 1 — Introduction to Wheel Throwing Introduction to the pottery wheel and basic techniques. You will learn how to center clay and begin forming simple shapes such as small cups or bowls. ⸻ Lesson 2 — Wheel Practice A second wheel session focused on improving control and consistency. You will continue practicing centering and shaping, aiming to create more refined forms. ⸻ Lesson 3 — Trimming (Turning) Introduction to trimming techniques. You will learn how to refine the shape of your leather-hard pieces and create a clean foot. ⸻ Lesson 4 — Attaching & Finishing In this session, you will complete your pieces by adding elements such as handles or other attachments. We will also focus on final surface adjustments before the drying and firing process. ⸻ Glazing Glazing is offered as a separate session and can be booked additionally. This allows you to choose your preferred finishing style and timing. ⸻ Notes Participants can expect to complete 4–6 ceramic pieces during the course. All materials, tools, and firings are included. Please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Aprons will be provided in the studio.
